13 However, if the @EngineersBoard insists on #GradEngKE PAYING for the #EBKLicence, then the #EBKAct2011 SHOULD be amended to: a) include #GradEngKE class as “engineer” and; b) permit #GradEngKE to offer “professional engineering services”. @EngineersBoard @TheIEK @linrads

10 2nd, s. 26(3), #EBKAct2011 clearly states that only professional engineer and consulting engineer who hold #EBKLicence can offer “professional engineering services”. Again, #GradEngKE are excluded from offering “professional engineering services”. @EngineersBoard @TheIEK

9 1st, "engineer" under s. 2, #EBKAct2011 “means a person registered under this Act as a professional engineer or a consulting engineer and who holds a valid licence." A Graduate Engineer (#GradEngKE) is NOT an "engineer" according to the #EBKAct2011. @EngineersBoard @TheIEK

8 On the other hand, if what the #EBKAct2011 meant was that the #EBKLicence moderate “professional engineering services”, and NOT “engineering”, then #GradEngKE should be exempted from paying for the #EBKLicence by virtue of ss. 2 & 26, #EBKAct2011. @EngineersBoard @TheIEK

7 Therefore, on this ground (5 & 6), the #EBKAct2011 is inconsistent with the #CoK2010. Therefore, by virtue of art. 2(4), #CoK2010, all licences issued by the @EngineersBoard should be voided. #EBKLicence @TheIEK @ieksouthrift

3 What #EBKLicence does is, it grants a licencee the ok to "engage in the practice of engineering" – s. 32(1), #EBKAct2011. NB: it’s “engineering” NOT “professional engineering services”. The 2 mean different things under the #EBKAct2011. See👇. @EngineersBoard @TheIEK

2 S. 2, #EBKAct2011, defines a "licence" as "an annual practicing licence issued under s. 32 of this Act or a licence issued in another country and is recognized in Kenya." @EngineersBoard @TheIEK @KNUE_Official
