#NEW #DISTURBING #DETAILS #EMERGS Cook County Prosecutors released new details in court this week for a man who shot a 1-yr-old girl in the head last weekend. Court records revealed that 38-yr-old Davaris Washington had a Glock equipped with an auto-fire “switch” that allowed it to unleash multiple rounds with one trigger pull. He had the gun in 1 hand, and a power drill in the other. He ordered his girlfriend an uber to his house, who brought her baby girl with her. The assistant States Attorney said Washington was trying to fix a couch, when he wanted to test out the drill noise to make sure he don’t wake the baby up, who was sleeping in a car seat on the floor, but he pulled the wrong trigger. A burst of 3 shots were fired from the gun, 1 bullet striking the back of the baby’s head, exiting near her ear, the other 2 logged into the car seat and couch. The girlfriend picked her baby up when she noticed blood coming from her head, so he called 911 and gave her the phone, she panicked and gave it back to him. Washington then told dispatchers that a bullet came from outside thru the window and hit the child. The assistant Prosecutor said Washington gave the gun to an upstairs neighbor before police arrived and told her to hide it, but he did not tell her what had happened. He later informed police where they could recover the weapon. Officers found it in a laundry bin in the neighbor’s closet along with two magazines, including an extended magazine that was inserted in the firearm. On Monday, Cook County Judge D’Anthony Thedford ordered Washington detained on charges of unlawful use of a machine gun, possession of a firearm by a repeat felon, reckless discharge of a firearm and reckless conduct causing great bodily harm. The baby girl is still fighting her for her life 🙏🏾 #ChitownCrimeChasers
