@CPetersen_CS Yes, agree. I do worry about the #EntArch function in general. I still run across EAs (and used to be one of them) but it’s a role that’s been so overcome by events, it’s not even funny. I will make a note to have a #CIOChat soon on the topic.

A2) An empowered, trusted, strategic, #CIO-as-partner is in a position to shape a lot of that in combination with an #EntArch function to keep an eye on duplicated effort, drive platforms and standards, etc. We need to build a resilient, easy-to-consume foundation. #CIOChat

A2) (biased) I think this may be a new golden age for #EntArch or something close to it. If everybody can suddenly create their own apps, workflows, and integrations cheaply over a weekend with #AI tools; somebody has to keep their eyes on the big picture. #CIOChat

2/ For the last 30 years #EntArch has been fairly stable: Apps → run on middleware → which runs on infrastructure. Agents threaten that model. Because an agent can sit above the app layer and orchestrate work across many systems simultaneously. NVIDIA is now trying to build the runtime for that layer.

@CPetersen_CS +100. These are very good answers. And I missed GRC, that’s a core IT function, though arguably guardrails. But with AI, I think we’ll see the CoE model will finally meet its match. It’s been failing to scale for years. I think a new AI #EntArch function will emerge. #CIOChat
