Journalists, researchers, and biodiversity activists came together yesterday at Europe House to explore the role of media in Albania’s green transition, as part of the #EU4GreenGen project. “Environmental reform is not a side issue. It’s about health, jobs, food safety, clean energy, it’s Albania’s future. The EU is investing millions of euros to help Albania align with environmental standards. But it takes political will and cultural change to bring those standards to life. The media has the power to build that understanding. Together, we can build a cleaner, more sustainable Albania, and bring it closer to the European Union,” said Mr. Andre Rizzo, Head of Political Section at the EU Delegation to Albania. The workshop explored how media can drive environmental progress through EU-aligned legislation, storytelling, and impactful photography. Participants also developed story ideas on biodiversity and the circular economy, placing journalism at the heart of sustainable change.

The EU 🇪🇺 is stepping up its support for a greener Albania 🇦🇱! With nearly €1.5 million in funding over the next 3 years, through the #EU4GreenGen project, the EU will conduct 6 communication campaigns ti raise awareness on green issues, inspire action, and create a green generation in Albania. Our campaigns will boost environmental education, promote sustainable practices, and support Albania’s alignment with EU environmental standards. “The EU accession process isn’t just about adopting laws, it drives real societal transformation.
