As said earlier in #EarlyMedievalKentWeek, #Earlymedieval #coins are almost as common a find as EM brooches in #Kent. With just as many esoteric varieties early on. We can see the evolution of from coins copying those of #Rome to the pennies even a #Medieval king would recognise!
So for our second find of transition in #EarlyMedievalKentWeek is one of the FLO's top finds this year. An amazing inscribed knife fitting dating c.1050-1150. It has an inscription in late #AngloSaxon style..........BUT!
