Although most Australian infants now eat peanut and egg by age 12 months, and the majority around 6 months, some still develop food allergy despite the early introduction of allergens. #EarlyNuts @MCRI_for_kids @PopAllergy @NACEresearch @JACIInPractice

Thank you NAC and @tsanz_thoracic for supporting this research and my career. By integrating food allergy phenotypes into prediction models, I hope to develop more precise prediction tools for asthma risk in children using data from #HealthNuts and #EarlyNuts
Congratulations A/Prof Rachel Peters, recipient of the NAC @TSANZ 2024 career development fellowship. Prof Peters, Principal Investigator of @mcri_for_kids HealthNuts and EarlyNuts, will be developing a prediction model to assist clinicians to provide early asthma diagnoses.

Thank you @AsthmaAustralia for supporting the next generation of allergy and asthma researchers. Tamaia’s PhD project will explore the links between infant food allergy and later lung health in #HealthNuts and #EarlyNuts @MCRI_for_kids @PopAllergy

Thank you @ruchisgupta and @cfaarnu for the invitation to #GFAPS2023 to share data from #HealthNuts and #EarlyNuts on Australia’s experience changing infant feeding guidelines for food allergy prevention. There were so many fascination presentations on food allergy prevention!
Fantastic talks discussing various studies from Drs. Helen Brough, Lucy Bilaver, Sai Nimmagadda and Rachel Peters. #2023GFAPS

🗣MJA insight+ features our #HealthNuts and #EarlyNuts experts discussing the impact of changing infant feeding guidelines to prevent 🥜 allergy. Plus, what should happen next!

Great news from the #EarlyNuts and #HealthNuts studies. Timely introduction of allergens can be recommended without impacting breastfeeding rates. @PopAllergy @MCRI_for_kids @merryn_netting @victoriaxsh
MJA: Timely introduction of allergens can be recommended without concern that it might curtail breastfeeding. https://t.co/dxz5JnTALx
Super proud of my former PhD student, now postdoc (!) for her PhD paper published in #jama. Peanut allergy has stabilized following introduction of new infant feeding guidelines. 🥜 Congratulations @victoriaxsh, Jen Koplin and the #EarlyNuts, #HealthNuts and @PopAllergy teams!
Introducing peanut products in infancy likely blunted the rise in peanut allergy that could have otherwise occurred. Peanut allergy did not change over 10 years! This is GOOD news because risk factors have increased in the population @MCRI_for_kids #PhD

Check out our new #JAMA publication (high-impact journal) from our team @MCRI_for_kids and collaborators. SPOILER: Peanut allergy has stabilised!
CFAR Director & @PopAllergy Co-Group Leader Dr Jennifer Koplin presented #EarlyNuts study finding that "early introduction of peanut is necessary, but not sufficient to eliminate peanut allergy"

@victoriaxsh (my #PhDmumma) is an incredible #PhDmentor & wonderful colleague! Back in 2017-2019 we were in the throes of coordinating & recruiting for the #EarlyNuts study which aimed to unpack the infant #Allergy story. What a journey since then @victoriaxsh - so proud🤎🥜👶🏽
Congrats to #PhD superstar @victoriaxsh! Earlier this month Vic bowled us over in summarising the remarkable breadth & depth of her #InfantFeeding #Pacifier #FoodAllergy research at her #PhDCompletionSeminar. Follow @victoriaxsh for more. Some of Vics media & work shown:
