I'm not prone to bouts of complimenting @conorsmurf, but this moved me. Show it to PMEs, anyone thinking about becoming a teacher of English, and those who already made that smart career choice. #EdChatIE

โMs Healy said the role of school secretary had become much busier. She added that the workload of teachers had increased exponentially. "The workload has gone crazy, it's next-level - almost to the extent that you'd wonder where they actually find the time to teach."โ #edchatie

Looks like the NCCA has had an episode.
#edchatie
As would I. I recommend reading the full literature review if you have the time. It makes it clear that the NCCA do not think it sufficient to take an approach to interculturalism that welcomes, embraces or celebrates different cultures. They specifically want a critical/radical approach to be implemented in schools, that focuses on power and privilege and deconstructing the 'dominant' cultural identity (that is white, settled, catholic Irish). This isn't intended to be a once off lesson, they ask that this "sit, occupy, and permeate all facets of school life"
