Earlier today while moderating a roundtable discussion on Gov't Interventions to Address Youth Unemployment, I learned that there are over 35 Gov't programs most dedicated to Youth, funded with Million dollars but we choose to castigate YLP only.

Government employment programmes are failing because of poor mobilization and organizational strategies of the youth. Innovative approaches, eg, business incubation approaches and getting the groups to work with entrepreneurship experts to refine their businesses. #EmployUG
Government interventions to address employment should be built with mechanisms to address dependence on external actors. Initiatives like #YouthLivelihoodProgramme should provide resources that make youth responsible for shaping their own path. #EmployUG @Youth4Policy
Failure for some government officials to follow program guidelines has had a toll on the Youth Livelihood Program. This is so with signs of corruption tendencies.
