Update on my Entity Component System (ECS) which was completely rewritten from scratch from the previous hash-based table design into a data-driven sparse architecture in August. Hasn’t needed a single bit of maintenance since. #Gamedev #Indiedev #EngineDev

My 3d renderer has become increasingly difficult to maintain and add features to due to the current architecture so im moving to command driven witch will simply feature addition and improve CPU cache performance while decreasing maintenance. #Gamedev #Indiedev #EngineDev

Implemented Volumetric light scattering, improved post-processing, upgraded classic 1975 Phong shading model to custom hybrid version, better surface properties and added cascaded shadow maps to my OpenGL 3.3 engine. #Gamedev #Indiedev #EngineDev #OpenGL #GraphicsProgramming

I can now use Blender as a level editor - exporting colliders, spawn points for characters and lights into my game. Also added collisions(Jolt) and an animation state machine (Idle-Walk-Jump). Now how do I make a walking animation with a dress >.< #gamedev #indiedev #enginedev

They're alive! The interesting thing is that every enemy is using the same behavior tree, as the tree itself is stateless. Calculations are made based in the entity id and the current node each entity is on. #indiedev #gamedev #solodev #enginedev #csharp #dod

Redesigned the core engine systems to be fully automatic and dynamic, serialization and ECS component handling now occur automatically at runtime and scale with minimal maintenance needed making it easier to add new components. #Gamedev #Indiedev #EngineDev
