From my copy of PC Gamer 1995, Epic MegaGames had an ad for six coming games. I'd love to know who wrote that copy in the bottom half--did Tim write that? I definitely know it was a guy who wrote it because it assumed you were neglecting your girlfriend. 😄 #EpicFiles

Back in early 1991 I gave Tim Sweeney some advice on succeeding as a game developer, and he printed that advice in his newsletters to his internal developers. All four "parts" to be successful still totally apply today. #EpicFiles

Tim included these rumors about coming Apogee games in one of his internal newsletters to his devs. Looking back, here's how his intel panned out: 1. He had caught wind of Wolfenstein 3D! 2. Duke Nukem 2 only had 2-plane parallaxing. 3. Nope, no full-screen sprites. #EpicFiles

In 1991 and '92, Tim Sweeney and his Epic MegaGames studio aimed at achieving the success he saw Apogee reaching. Here's the front page of his developer-only newsletter where he says "beating Apogee is a top priority". (And yes, he eventually did!) #EpicFiles
