#etec681 Q7 cont’d I liked the humour and gif’s. It was more down to earth than a typical discussion and you have to constantly write and not overthink, which is engaging- physically and mentally

A5: Webex has great interactive tools that encourage engagement. I find their pointer/arrow tool and whiteboard writing tools very straightforward and functional. Plus, you can share work that was done in breakout rooms with the rest of the class #etec681

@j_a_corrigan #ETEC681 A5: Honestly? I'm loving this Twitter live chat feature! I didn't think it'd feel as engaging as it is, prior to signing in. Something about it being live in an INFORMAL environment I think (a social media site, as opposed to Moodle or Zoom)

@j_a_corrigan #ETEC681 An app I loved learning from was UDemy this past module. It was interactive and the assessments were keeping me engaged. They weren't too hard, but you had to listen to the content either way to be able to progress. #udemy #Concordia

A3/3: one easy solution would be for VoIP/computer audio to allow two or more people to talk at the same time seamlessly. Combined with VR and larger visual interfaces, that could imitate being in a real group, this would be a start!#etec681

A3: There is also an element of accountability. I know that if I dont show up to a live class and participate, my peers will notice. It's like how I'll always do the expexted number of push-ups in a live gym class but on my own when following from an app? Nah... #etec681

A3: we saw this in one of the earlier readings, it's all about community and social interaction and despite advances, it's tough to beat being in a common space and listening and debating ideas. I can see how students drop out of online course due to this. #etec681

A3: Agreed with the support piece! At times, I like to check-in to ensure that I'm on the right track and in online courses with no live instruction or check points, I'm more likely to drop the course. #ETEC681

@j_a_corrigan #ETEC681 A3: to continue, the best thing we can do is to include discussion boards or even group chat features (ex: SLACK) where we CAN interact with others from afar, so the learning journey doesn't feel so lonely. It's a great way to pick up alternative ideas + perspectives too
