@data_foundation @OMBPress A6: #EvidenceAct accountability process and metrics will ensure that practices are actionable. This can't be just another act. It must be implemented, revisited, and revised using evidence and the learning agendas to continuously improve upon it. #EvidenceActChat
@data_foundation A5: More resources will need to be invested in building community evaluation/research capacity to foster equitable engagement of community stakeholders throughout the evaluation life course. #EvidenceActChat
@data_foundation A5: Agencies need to develop realistic sustainability plans that provide incremental steps for continuing to invest in building a culture of credible evidence. #EvidenceActChat
Okay -- that's it for me in the #EvidenceActChat. Thanks to all who joined and to the teams at the @data_foundation & @MathematicaNow. / END

A6 -- OMB, DPC, OSTP, NEC, CEA and all of the White House components should continue to press agencies on implementation, and prioritization of #EvidenceBased policymaking. #EvidenceActChat

A6 -- Suggestions for next steps @OMBPress:

#EvidenceActChat Q6: What suggestions do you have to improve or build on @OMBPress's new Evidence Act guidance?
@data_foundation @OMBPress A6: I'd like to see more guidance on what to do with evidence once you have it. Learning from evidence is an on-going process so writing a report is not the end, it's a new beginning for engagement, deeper learning, and replication. #EvidenceActChat
@data_foundation @OMBPress The @OMBPress guidance is already excellent, read it all if you haven't. Agencies will need help collecting and curating the data they already have. Guidance on sharing data within and across agencies to build data systems is crucial. No gatekeeping #EvidenceActChat.
A5: Next year agencies will publish capacity assessments required by the #EvidenceAct that will shed light on where the biggest capacity gaps remain. We know some of these gaps are vast and will require attention from the White House and Congress. #EvidenceActChat
Next Q A5 / Agencies need to start by focusing resources on capacity and wins that are high salience. Evidence building can be a low cost, high reward activity for any sector including gov't! https://t.co/h385cUOTci #EvidenceActChat
#EvidenceActChat Q5: We hear from federal agencies about the need for resources -- people and funding -- to conduct #evaluation. Where would you like to see agencies focus those resources?
@data_foundation @OMBPress A6/ I like this advice from @WayneDyerQuotes: "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change." #EvidenceActChat
"The evidence-building community has an important role to play in advancing equity," writes @paultdecker, with strategic approaches to "projects we pursue, the methods we use, and the ways in which we engage communities to share findings." #EvidenceActChat

#EvidenceActChat Q3: A major focus in the new Evidence Act guidance document from @OMBPress is on equity. How do you see this supporting engagement & collaborative processes for evaluation in agencies?
#EvidenceActChat Q6: What suggestions do you have to improve or build on @OMBPress's new Evidence Act guidance?
