This was an impressive #ExtLook at one of the top @PG_Uncommitted in the region, as Smallets exudes physical projection w/ the chance to sky rocket as he continues to mature. The advancement of his SL along w/ the turbo sink present a nightmarish look for opposing hitters. #PGHS

#Uncommitted Jackson Smallets (‘25,NJ) opened up in the 89-91 mph range w/ turbo sink to the bottom of the zone; reached back for multiple 92’s & even grabbed a 93 mph for Ks to finish off the 1st. Ripped off a few hellacious SL’s in the low-80s for whiffs (up to 2675 RPMs) & flashed a heavy faded CH in the 81-84 mph range. Killed spin effectively & replicated arm speed well. Monster physical projection remaining; extended 3/4 slot creates tough look for opposing hitters. #PGHS @PG_Scouting @GCbaseballrams

#ExtLook here at Meccage- who worked into the 5th & did not allow a hit before exiting. Athletic mover down the slope w/ aggressive lower 1/2 & plenty of arm speed. *Opened 93-94 (95 x2) & grabbed a 96 w/ the FB (2275-2450 RPMs). Elicited plenty of whiffs in the zone due to cut/ride profile & expanded up when ahead. Maintained velo for the most part; couple ticks lower from the stretch. *Tunneled both CB & SL well of the FB w/ CB (76-78) showing abrupt plane change at-times & spin rates into the high 2700s. SL up to 84 mph w/ hard horizontal mvmt to it & spin rates up to 2896. *Flashed CH in warmups but used minimally in-game to complete repertoire. Showed ability to kill spin effectively (1750 RPMs); replicated arm speed well & has some fade at 85-87 mph. *Intriguing overall profile w/ tons of hand speed & a quick shoulder. ✅’s a ton of boxes w/ further optimization of arsenal as he continues to mature. #PGHS #PGDraft @PG_Scouting @PG_Draft

Loud stuff here from #UVA commit Bryce Meccage (‘24,NJ). Opened up 93-94 mph, touching 95 x 2 & grabbing a 96 early. FB elicited plenty of S&M w/ cut/ride to it. Here’s an #ExtLook at DeRias, who was outstanding throughout his CG No-No! Peaked at 93 mph (X3) & held steady in the 90-92 range throughout the entirety. SL varied in shape at-times but he tunnels it effectively to keep hitters guessing. CH is a firmer version in the mid-80s w/ late tumble to it. Garnered whiffs to both LHH/RHH in this look. Frame projects to add more strength; arm stroke is repeatable & relatively clean. Should continue to add even more velocity as he continues to physically mature. Will be a fun name to monitor closely. #PGHS @PG_Scouting

#TheU commit Tate DeRias (‘24,NJ) was stellar across his 5 No-Hit innings for his @GCbaseballrams squad. Ran it up to 93 mph early & worked steadily in the 90-92 range throughout. Even grabbed a pair of 92s in his final inning; Punched out 11 along the way. Landed SL for strikes in the 77-80 mph range (~2100-2375 RPMs), while flashing both depth & sweep @ times. CH is an absolute weapon w/ tumble & depth in the 83-86 mph range; generated whiffs. #PGHS @PG_Scouting

Here’s the #ExtLook at Mack, who was pretty dominant in his abbreviated 1st start bc of PC. Effortlessly worked 91-93 T94; pounded the K zone effectively. Landed 2-plane breaker for strikes, while showing the aptitude to manipulate its shape at-times. Flashed well-replicated CH in warmups w/ fade.
