This highlights a key problem of nascent #FDIscreening regime in #Slovakia. Min of Economy is to play a dual role of attracting investment & at the same time act as investment control agency/gatekeeper. Important to watch how the inherent #ConflictOfInterest will be reconciled.
Minister of Economy #RichardSulik announced a major investment in Eastern #Slovakia. Media speculate this could be #Volvo, which would be the 5th carmaker here. As Volvo is owned by Zhejiang Geely, this would also be the largest #China investment in 🇸🇰.
