FIIs are in a hurry. Weak rupee. Better yields. And, on top of that, such lovely and friendly tax policies! The government knows exactly where the easy money is. Why worry about the 3–4% of the population that actually pays income tax? More than 60% of this tiny group doesn’t even vote. And even if they do, their votes are unlikely to make much difference to any political party. Vilfredo Pareto might finally have to reconsider his famous 80–20 rule. India has its own version: 97–3. 3% do the donkey’s work, generate the taxable income, pay the taxes, and the system figures out how to distribute it among the other 97%. No wonder FIIs are in a hurry. They don't want to be part of this 3% donkeys!
