Today, Year 6 have been looking into the pricings of different events of the Olympics. They have applied their learning from across the year to see how much it would cost to buy tickets in their favourite sports and how much profit will be made.

In Maths this morning Year 4 have been practising using formal methods of addition. Working in pairs they had to set a four digit target and by rolling a dice they had to make two four digit numbers that would create their target number. #first4maths
Today we held our addition and subtraction workshop for parents in conjunction with #first4maths. The session was well attended and gave our parents a really clear insight into how we teach Maths. Our next workshop is in November looking at Multiplication and Division.
In Year Four today we have been using our bead strings to help us to count in different multiples - we counted in 25s, 50s, 100s, 500s, and 1000s. We are very good at using the beads to represent different amounts. #first4maths

Class 3 are enjoying Commonwealth games maths week. The year 3’s are designing their own flags to fit the shape criteria. The year 4’s are sorting the different flags into vent diagrams to depending on the criteria they fit into. #first4maths
In maths Y4 used dominoes as improper fractions. We then represented them pictorially, and converted them to mixed number fractions. We enjoyed challenging ourselves to simplify them at the end. #DittonMaths #First4Maths #fractions
