Pole attachments are a huge part of #rural #broadband deployment, so there needs to be clear-cut objectives and initiatives on pole attachment policy to properly serve the unserved. #FSFConf14 @chairmanpowell #spectrum #5G
One issue with maps is that the maps coming at the end of the year don’t incorporate data on areas that may be unserved now but are receiving RDOF funds; also not clear about states who don’t like the maps and want to use their own @chairmanpowell #FSFConf14
@chairmanpowell says huge problem is that there are multiple maps. Federal govt and states may use different maps for distributing broadband funds.
Could lead to overbuilding.
There’s also no guarantee the that maps make everyone happy.
