Sunday was a busy day for the #fwfd.
We started out the day with a 9 car π train derailment on W. Vickery Blvd.
That incident was followed by 3 working residential structure fires before making this commercial working fire on N. Main Street.
An engine was headed to the hospital to pick up some of its crew members after a high priority EMS call. (Sometimes we send firefighters π¨βπfrom the Fort Worth Fire Department to assist our EMS teammates in the ambulance π if the call warrants extra hands to provide the patient with the best possible outcome.)
As the engine was driving from the short northside to retrieve the rest of their firefighters, they could see and smell smoke in the area north of downtown. They were able to locate the fire and immediately called over the radio for an alarm assignment to bring in more resources to help battle the blaze. As soon as other trucks showed up on scene, the two man crew immediately made entry into the structure and made an aggressive interior attack on the fire.
It took crews around 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Stay Safe, #fortworth

The #FWFD is on scene of a large scrap yard fire in the 3800 block of North Commerce Street. Many people are reporting seeing smoke in the areaβ and this is the incident causing it. Crews will be on scene for quite some time. Please avoid the area if possible.
Stay safe, #FortWorth.
*Please field all media requests to the PIO.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 22nd the Fort Worth Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire in our cityβs north side. Upon arrival, #fwfd crews discovered a house that was well involved with fire. Our firefighters did everything they could to stop the blaze but when they cleared the scene the family had lost their home and everything inside.
When the π crew from fire station 12 returned to the station that morning, they came up with a plan. They reached out to #fortworthfirefightercharities and were determined to try and give a part of Christmas back to the family. They all pitched in together with help from their wives and families to go shopping for the family that had lost everything.
Today, on Christmas Eve, that crew showed up to make a special delivery.
Stay Safe, #fortworth π

It was a busy morning for the Fort Worth Fire Department! Crews responded to two incidents around 4am this morning.
The #fwfd was dispatched to a motel fire in the 7500 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard West. Upon arrival, Engine 16 saw fire coming from the roof and immediately began an offensive attack. The fire started and was contained to the laundry room. Thankfully, there were no injuries and the guests of the motel were allowed back to their rooms when the all clear was given. The building did not have electricity so given the cold temperature and rain, the @RedCrossNTX assisted with relocating those displaced.
At the same time, the #fwfd was dispatched to a car into a building. Engine 39 arrived to find a car had crashed into the dialysis facility at 4804 Bryant Irvin Road. Thankfully, given the time of day no one was inside. The driver was treated and transported by MedStar to a local hospital. Engine 39 secured and ultimately removed the vehicle from the building and boarded up the facility.
Stay safe, #FortWorth
