My exit strategy in such situations is simple and boring (but effective): • I exit half the position when the price comes back to my buying/breakout level • I let the remaining half run with the original SL ~ No hope. ~ No, “it will bounce”. ~ No emotional attachment. Why exiting on the first selling signal matters: • Breakout failure is a major warning, not noise • No one knows how deep a stock can fall once it breaks down • What looks like a “small pullback” can turn into a 30–40% drawdown • Capital protection > ego protection • One bad hold can erase profits of 5 good trades Remember: You don’t make money by being right. You make money by losing small and surviving long. Exits don’t feel smart in the moment, But they look genius on the equity curve. Risk first. Profits later. Always!
