January moon,
her silver filigree,
icy porcelain
amid the sky's greys and graphite.
Swathed in soft flecks
of spectral flicker,
the sea
aglow in tender lustring—
a luminous palette
of pearls, twinkling blooms.
Sparkly spells—
in midwinter tints,
night—a frosted sapphire.

In morning's
brumal blues,
ivies and brambles
creep across tombstones,
umbral mist wreathing
weathered epitaphs.
Frost rosaries
on the leaden cross—
like slate-greys
of sepulchral shrouds,
requiems on December wind.
Only a jackdaw caws—
the psalmist of the forlorn
forsaken.

Chiselled
by arctic winds,
draped in frost,
like opal halos, forlorn—
a rimy pine,
silent sentinel of a wintry sky.
Perched on it,
in mist-white silhouette
of icy stillness—
a white owl.
A December soul,
she watches the swirling snow,
its gentle cadence—
a silver adagio.

In the highlands'
rugged wilds,
summer lingers in alabaster
as edelweiss blooms
in veil-white lustre,
cradled in soft wafts
of opaline clouds—
an alpine dawn-sheen
of silver sequins.
Across the July sky,
oracles of wisping azure—
the bardic wind
soughs a mystic canticle.

Rising proud,
swaying on lofty stems,
origami orbs,
amethyst tiaras
of luminous blush.
Filigreed
in violet elegance,
refrains of starburst purple
beneath May's delicate skies
painting the dawn awake—
wild,
like dusk on lilac fields,
in sylvan lush—
jewels of allium blooms.

Bare and rimed,
like shadows silhouetted
in arctic-white—
upland woods.
In the haze of a hibernal,
rowan berries
in coral scripts of carnelian—
embered suns
of a forgotten sky.
Cradled in silver,
serene, they blush
with twilight's crimson
as winter stirs its ancient spell.

November rain—
a chorus of soft patters.
Tiny beats
as dripping whispers linger
in tints of silvertones.
On cobbles they fall,
glimmer like beads
of beryl light,
fade in puddles
of broken skies.
Hues ache in adieu
as they haze into hoarfrost—
umber sighs of a winter willow.

Frail and frigid,
a brumal breeze
hums through silent hemlocks
as the ancient woods
blur in a trance of braiding greys.
In ombre twilight,
coy, spinel-tinged—
a scatter of crocus.
Demure in gentle glint,
like puddles of dimpling haloes,
cradling lilac
of a winter nocturne.

In the crook of a bare oak,
forlorn in wintry pewter,
a fractured melody
in forgotten fragments.
Chants of raspy chatter—
sylvan dryad,
a black-billed magpie.
Her ethereal noir
in sapphirine sheen.
Her call,
a suasive omen—
serenades of silence,
my soul's solitary winter.

Baptized
in dawn’s honey dew,
lingers a pensive November.
In the forest's blurring scarlet,
veiled elegies bleed—
musings,
a sparrow's lute
of wilting autumn.
Silvered blues,
swansong on a leafless aspen.
And the barrens
echo a bruised silence,
its oracles of aching farewell.

Sing to me
in wistful breeze
as the forest hums thro'
its soulful reeds.
Sing to me
in cerise serenades
of twilit anemones
as they lilt in autumn’s auburn,
jade and jasper.
Cadence of a distant panpipe,
refrains of russet
as the blossoms waltz
to the bronze of a soft sunset.

Susurrant, scented,
dawn's wandering griot—
wispy verses of whistling breeze.
Veiled in lilac,
she stirs jade and marigold—
herald of blooming emeralds.
In braided swirls
she riffs thro’ the orchards—
sweeps of arabesque sway.
Spritely breeze—
poetess of springtime musings.

Enchanting chants,
an incantation on the
tiled roof—
rain’s silver lyre
strums an April dawnsong.
Its molten opals
glide down the window glass,
like wispy trails
of coral light as they caress
the petal-pink of lacy sakuras—
its cadence,
languid tendrils of a soulful lullaby.

May sky’s turquoise,
svelte in twilight, a racy chorus—
lithe in lilting ripples,
bursts of bronze—
swallows in voile sheen.
They dart in veering rhythm,
braid the saffron
in mirthful wingbeats
of firelight,
scattering sparkly trails
across dusk's aubergine—
I become lyrical.

Burning cognac—
the west's palette of fire
and aureolin.
Carved in red chalcedony,
an orphic orb—
blazing sunset rhapsody,
its iridescence
cradling a flurry of starlings
as they surge
in silhouetted swirls.
October sky—
cadenced in carnelian,
chorister of a timeless serenade.

Hewn in stone,
a brooding cathedral.
In its shadowed belfry,
like refrains of a midnight sacrament,
the bell’s sighs swell,
lingering o’er the endless dark.
Every peal—
a knell of longing,
requiems of forlorn whispers.
Do you hear it too—
the ache,
its echoes in the wind?

Steeped in the old woods
of spells and spirits,
like copper notes
of a nomad’s oud,
incantations
in mesmeric cadence—
a litany of cicadas' perennial lore.
A parable of voices
rising, fading, yet never ending,
as if asking—
if you had but one summer,
wouldn’t you sing too?

Sanity demands,
a daily walk,
in the forest.

A sinuous whorl
of copper-ochre,
rustling sequins soar
amid knotted oaks—
like tender pirouettes
of origami fire,
autumn leaves twirl
in a whirlwind.
It whirs through
October woods,
like swirls of a harp's soft riffs.
Its rhythmic gyre—
bronzed embers trailing
a forest hymn.
