"This is precisely why fandom is a visionary space for the world we’re reaching for. It is the rarefied experience in which cherishing something with one’s whole being is not only permitted, but celebrated. Fandom love is a microcosm of what kind of world we’re fighting for."

I’m wiped out with a virus right now but just want to say how wonderful it is to see the fantastic and really moving responses to #TheAssembly last night. I feel very lucky to have been a part of it.
Elite athletes are starting to realize that if they want to remain at the top of their sport they need to protect their health against a deadly and disabling airborne virus. Sports #fansmaskup!
This may the only authentic picture in existence of a person with a both a mask, and a Swedish flag on the cap. Thanks, cross country skier William Poromaa!
It would be awesome if @Fans_MASKUP @comconnireland, @waltz_tales could work together to plan to make this event as safe as possible by putting in layers of mitigation to protect both stars and fans.

While campaigns like #FansMaskUp,
#SaveDavidTennant, and #ProtectTheHeartofTheArts center highly visible public figures, ultimately our goal is to protect everyone: from our favorite performers, crew members, our fellow fans to our friends and families and communities.
Wish I could’ve been there in person but so proud of the team and just glad I could contribute from afar. Love and solidarity always. 💜 #ProtectTheHeartOfTheArts #FansMaskUp
Kat McNamara of Shadowhunters & Walker Independence in an FFP2😷 at a meet & greet w/ fans. It would be great if audiences wore them too! Let’s protect our favorite performers & fellow fans from airborne illnesses by normalizing masking at cons & other shared spaces! #fansmaskup

Good Omens fans, if you’re excited about GO3 I hope you can channel some of that enthusiasm towards advocating for 😷, especially at large performance events. If you care about @neilhimself pls do your part in protecting creators/performers who make the art we love. #fansmaskup
Big convention for one of my fandoms last weekend, starting to see lots of + tests on my TL now. If you're at an event w/ 100s of people, it's inevitable someone is +. Can we pls stop infecting our friends & favorite actors/creators at cons and normalize masking? 😭 #fansmaskup

From tweets/stream titles, I've documented over 600 individuals who attended Twitchcon and tested positive.
I also tracked TC Amsterdam, TC Paris, and SD 2022. The volume for Vegas has been higher than all of them.
Not scientific, but just an interesting data point!
