There are many ways to run containers on #AWS and #Fargate is one that comes up quite often. Fargate works with the Elastic Container Servicer (ECS) - where it is most often mentioned. It also works with the Elastic Kubernetes Service (#EKS).

As with any architecture choice, running stateful workloads on #Fargate has always meant accepting trade-offs. You get the simplicity of serverless containers but lose easy access to persistent block storage. Native #EBS integration changes that equation in a meaningful way for teams already invested in the platform.
The zonal characteristics of EBS are worth understanding before diving in. The example architecture below includes a Cloud Development Kit (#CDK) implementation and a practical approach to handling volume persistence during task interruptions - which is where things get operationally interesting.

Running the Elastic Kubernetes Service (#EKS) on #Fargate with #ALB Ingress is a common setup for container-based apps on AWS. Setting up all the components required for this can be tedious and seeing examples can help. The guide below discusses the setup with some of the trial and error that may come up.
Problems shown include IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA) drift to orphaned service accounts to Helm release conflicts. Having a reference that walks through the resolution of some of these issues step by step is genuinely useful and can help others in this space.
