Why I Took Profits in the Fidelity Energy ETF (FENY) Today... With the entire market selling off on Thursday and the #EnergySector rocketing to new highs, my #FidelityEnergyETF (#FENY) position once again dramatically outgrew the target allocation size for my Dumb Money Portfolio. As a result, it was time to reallocate with a sale order which filled near the all-time high at $32.74, locking in +46.42% in gains from my $22.36 cost basis. The sale trimmed 1.88% from my $FENY position and reduced my cost basis -0.89% from $22.36 to $22.16. However, because of the shift across the portfolio, FENY still remains overweight at 23.189% of the portfolio when its target is 22.125%. Maybe there will be more selling in the future, but, for the moment, I’m pleased with this short-term reallocation.
