The Election Commission has published a comprehensive list of voters under adjudication in the state. For the first time, the report presents detailed district-wise data categorizing voters as eligible and ineligible . According to Commission sources, more than 60 lakh voters were under adjudication. Among them, over 32 lakh have been declared eligible, while around 27 lakh have been marked as ineligible. The highest number of exclusions has been reported in Murshidabad district, where approximately 4.55 lakh voters have been deemed ineligible. North 24 Parganas ranks second, with about 3.25 lakh names removed. Next is Malda, with around 2.39 lakh voters marked ineligible. Nadia has also recorded a significant number, with nearly 2.08 lakh names excluded. In South 24 Parganas, around 2.22 lakh voters have been declared ineligible, while Birbhum has about 0.82 lakh such cases. Additionally, the report mentions that approximately 1.20 lakh names have been removed in Hooghly, around 0.74 lakh in Paschim Bardhaman, and about 1.76 lakh in Uttar Dinajpur. The Commission stated that each name was carefully reviewed as per due process before finalizing the list. However, as per Supreme Court directives, voters declared ineligible will have the opportunity to appeal before judicial tribunals for reconsideration.
