My #FirstXmen was in the Marvel Holiday Special from '91. It was my first comic book & it had Cockrum/Rubinstein X-Men, Art Adams/Milgrom F4, Jansen Punisher, Garney Spider-Man, Buscema/Simonson Thor, Mackie/Hebert Ghost Rider, Lim Cap... AND MORE... so great.

My #FirstXMen were very sporadic. A comic savvy friend made me aware of them - the same summer Empire Strikes Back came out. It was a glorious time.
Back then I was just grabbing any random issue I saw on the 7-11 spinner rack that had cool monsters or Wolverine killing guys.
#FirstXMen I was introduced to them on Spider-man and His Amazing Friends, but X-Men #1 was the first issue I bought from the stands.
This issue here started it for me! The art was phenomenal as a really great crossover story! #FirstXMen
This is most likely the #FirstXMen I bought off the rack, due to the Secret Wars 2 tie in. From there I bought every back issue going back to 150, and I would read the series monthly for about 100 issues, quitting shortly after 300.
@DavidGallaher This was my #FirstXmen While it sucked me in when I first came across it, it had a greater impact when I re-read it years later after I’d become familiar with all the X-Men who were marked as “slain” on the poster. Amazing storytelling. Have always loved the X-men since then 🙌🏼
#FirstXmen Uncanny X-Men 143 was my first issue, torn up copy from a flea market. 172 was my first new issue. 169 was my first back issue.
Oh actually, this might be mine too! I got a collection my mum bought in Bath because she knew I liked the cartoon. X-Men 17 I probably picked up shortly after #FirstXMen
@DavidGallaher I was Vol 1 #97. Got it from the grocery store spinner rack. It was my weekly reward from mom for sitting quietly at tiny picnic table the store set up just inside the front door while she shopped.

@IAmBradWalker My #FirstXMen was actually the following issue, 276. Impenetrable is probably the best way to describe it. It ends with Wolverine killing *spoiler alert* a Skrull impersonating Xavier as seen here. This seemed like a big deal at the time.

@DavidGallaher A perfect intro to the X-Men for a 4 year old. Picked this up 2 years after its release at a LCS that was located in the biggest mall of Puerto Rico. I still have that copy to this day and the center pages are attached! #FirstXmen

It all kind of blurs together from around that time, but I *THINK* my first X-book was Uncanny 281 (or possibly adjectiveless X-Men #1) - from there, it was off to the races, reading up on back stories and grabbing all the trades I could. #FirstXMen
