Timely intervention by govt. But that exposes deeply the pretence to address the IPPs’ debt bilaterally rather than collectively. With China breathing down on its investment vehicle to redeem all outstanding debt, interesting times are ahead. Solution- #FixECG.

Update: Sunon is in continued talks with govt to stave off the shutdown. They haven't withdrawn the threat to shutdown, but for now, they've been restrained from carrying out the threat. The govt will likely find them some chops like it's been doing for Karpower. Will this last?

The IPPs have served final notice to gov’t to shut down by the 30th of June. They want at least 30% of the $1.4b debt owed. While negotiating on old debt, new ones pile, pushing the IPP debt to ~ $1.7b as of May. #FixECG @BBSimons @IMFNews
