The Fledge Notices are up!
I will start #FledgeWatch on Wednesday. I am basing it on ZNT fledging around the same time as Zig last year, which would be on Friday. But anything can happen!
Any help welcome as usual.
All is good so far today. Both have done good flights. Chick 2/Zag has even been chasing Mum and Dad. The first time he quickly thought it was too far but he went far away the second time, and managed to return safely. π

Another short flight by Chick 2/Zag this morning.
He's been flying very well with multiple flights early in the morning, then a few more late afternoon with some dubious landings...

Chick 1/Zig fledged around 5:10am. I have been around the hospital and didn't set my eyes on her but I am pretty sure I heard her on the roof. I saw Chick 2/Zag fly from above the ledge to the 'chimney'. It looked really good again.

The chicks had breakfast from Azina around 10:45am but now they've discovered the nest box roof they don't want to leave it... They've spent most of the morning on it.

The chicks slept on the nestbox. Chick 1 left around 4am, she didn't jump straight onto the wall. Chick 2 left 40 minutes later, his landing wasn't as good as yesterday's but he recovered well enough.
They have been pretty active since but no fledging yet.

A juvenile Peregrine that fledged today. Seems to be flying strongly.

The brothers playing this lunchtime. By the time I started filming they'd already been going for a while and they continued for a short bit after. Their stamina's definitely improved :)

Tom and his boys.
It's been a great day with long periods of inactivity (normal) and great bursts of energy. The brothers have been practicing their flying, playing with each other and their Mum, and started soaring high late afternoon.

ZAS is the first one I see landing on the highest point of the hospital. He's definitely grown up in confidence since yesterday lunchtime.

We got to see a few nice aerial displays by PFV and PHV together this evening!

The brothers are all accounted for. PHV and ZAS are still on the wall above the ledge. PFV has done at least 4 flights and is on the βchimneyβ.

This evening after a quick break for dinner I found PHV and ZAS on the wall above the nest ledge and PFV on the railing of the balcony below the ledge.
PFV has done at least 20 flights today, PHV 5 and ZAS 4.

During the fledge Azina intervened to stop Tom then landed on the North Wing railing. A minute or so later PFV took off too and went to dislodge his mum from her perch. Heβs since also flown back to above the ledge.

#FledgeWatch finished with cooperative hunting. Tom knocked one of the hospital pigeons, it dropped down and Azina scooped it. She was preparing it on Cliffe House as we left.
