Campfire版FlashTapの発売からすでに1ヶ月以上が経過しました。この1ヶ月間、支援者の皆様から多くのフィードバックをいただいており、それがFlashTapのアップグレードにおいて非常に重要な役割を果たしています。ここで、Flexigearは皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。
本日までに、FlashTapは多くのアップグレードを完了しました。今回、最後にして最も難しいアップグレードについてご紹介します。
製造コストおよび現在の技術力に限界があるため、世界中のメーカーが製造するすべてのマイクロスイッチには、動作力に一定の公差があります。FlashTapに使用しているKailh製のマイクロスイッチも例外ではなく、動作力範囲は60±10GFです（図1参照、KailhのGM9.0データシートより）。つまり、1つのGM9.0の実際の動作力は50GFから70GFの間のどこかに収まります。同じGM9.0を2つ購入した場合、見た目は同じでも、その動作力が20GFも異なる可能性があります。この差は、使用時に明らかに感じ取れるレベルです。
多くの支援者のフィードバックや、数名のプロプレイヤーによるテストの結果、マイクロスイッチの動作力が50GFに近い場合、より爆発的な操作が可能となり、70GFに近い場合、指が疲れやすいことがわかりました。60GF前後が、一般的に最も適した動作力とされています。
このため、FlexigearはFlashTapの動作力を、Campfire版の50-70GFから55-65GFに縮小することを決定しました。さらに、将来、動作力は55-60GFに狭めることも検討しています。
この実現には、Kailhの動作力選別サービスの協力が不可欠です。Kailhは、技術力が非常に高いメーカーの中で、このサービスを提供している唯一のメーカーであり、これがFlexigearがKailhを選んだ理由の1つです。
具体的仕組みは図2に示されている通りです。まず、Kailhはスイッチ製造機を使って動作力範囲が50〜70GFのGM9.0を製造し、その後、動作力分類機に送り込み、GM9.0を50〜55GF、55〜60GF、60〜65GF、65〜70GFの4つのカテゴリに分類します。そのうち、55〜60GFと60〜65GFのGM9.0がFlexigearに出荷されます。
ここでご理解いただけるように、55-65GFのGM9.0の生産スケジュールは確定できません。スイッチ製造機がどの動作力範囲に属するGM9.0を生産するかは完全にランダムであるため、Flexigearが予約した大量のGM9.0がいつ納品されるかは不確定です。運が良ければ2週間で納品されますが、運が悪ければ1ヶ月以上かかることもあります。だから、アップグレード版のFlashTapの発売が再び延期となる可能性があります。申し訳ございません。現在、2000個のGM9.0が入荷しました（図3および図4参照）。
現在までに完了したアップグレード内容：
１．最大外径の縮小。
２．スライド操作を容易に保ちながら、長時間の押下時の安定性を大幅に向上させました。
３．製造材料を調整し、クリップの柔軟性を向上させ、破損のリスクを大幅に減少。
４．Faston端子とPCBの設計を再構築し、ボタンの高さをほぼ変えずに、配線をより簡単にしました。
５．FlashTap24のナットを再デザインし、パネルの穴が小さくても引っかからないようにしました。

Notice Regarding the Improvement of FlashTap's Actuation Force Precision and Potential Delay in Release
It has been more than a month since the release of the Campfire version of FlashTap. During this time, we have received a lot of feedback from our supporters, which has played an extremely important role in upgrading FlashTap. At this point, Flexigear would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone.
As of today, FlashTap has undergone many upgrades. Now, we would like to introduce the final and most difficult upgrade.
Due to the limitations of manufacturing costs and current technological capabilities, all micro switches produced by manufacturers worldwide have a certain tolerance in actuation force. The micro switches used in FlashTap, manufactured by Kailh, are no exception, with an actuation force range of 60±10GF (see Figure 1 from Kailh's GM9.0 datasheet). This means that the actual actuation force of a single GM9.0 can range anywhere between 50GF and 70GF. Even if you buy two identical-looking GM9.0s, the actuation force may differ by as much as 20GF, which is a noticeable difference during use.
Based on the feedback from many supporters and tests by several professional players, it was found that if the actuation force of the micro switch is close to 50GF, more miss inputs are possible, while if it is closer to 70GF, fingers tend to tire more easily. An actuation force of around 60GF is generally considered the most suitable.
Therefore, Flexigear has decided to narrow FlashTap's actuation force range from the Campfire version's 50-70GF to 55-65GF. Furthermore, in the future, we are considering further narrowing the range to 55-60GF.
This improvement would not be possible without the cooperation of Kailh's actuation force sorting service. Among manufacturers with highly advanced technology, Kailh is the only one that offers this service, which is one of the reasons Flexigear chose Kailh.
As shown in Figure 2, Kailh first uses a switch manufacturing machine to produce GM9.0 switches with an actuation force range of 50-70GF. These switches are then sorted using an actuation force classification machine into four categories: 50-55GF, 55-60GF, 60-65GF, and 65-70GF. Of these, the 55-60GF and 60-65GF GM9.0s are shipped to Flexigear.
As you can understand, the production schedule for GM9.0 switches with a 55-65GF actuation force range is not guaranteed. Since it is entirely random which actuation force range the GM9.0s produced by the switch manufacturing machine will fall into, the delivery date for the large quantity of GM9.0s ordered by Flexigear remains uncertain. If we are lucky, they may be delivered in two weeks, but if not, it may take over a month. Therefore, the release of the upgraded version of FlashTap may be delayed once again. We apologize for the inconvenience. As of now, 2,000 GM9.0s have been received (see Figures 3 and 4).
Completed upgrades so far:
1.Reduction of maximum outer diameter.
2.Significant improvement in stability during long-press operations, while maintaining ease of slide operations.
3.Adjustment of manufacturing materials to improve the flexibility of clips, greatly reducing the risk of breakage.
4.Redesigned Faston terminals and PCB, making wiring easier without significantly changing the height of the buttons.
5.Redesigned FlashTap24's nut to prevent it from getting stuck, even when the panel holes are small.
