Expand the array to be filtered with the conditions as additional columns first.
Break the complex condition into different properties. Way easier to test and tweak.
My immediate thought was we can use translate() in xpath to quickly remove characters within each string, detecting any that has non numeric characters.

Not as crazy as the array/map/filter/join hack - just have to be decent with XPath. If you have InfoPath skills re-use that ;-)
