Day 6/5 of #FlumeWeek. Yes, you read that correctly. We had so much fun last week that we came back into the lab for more fun. Blake from @NRL is testing some new #water level sensors, capturing video for edge detection algorithms, and firing the laser for PIV.

Day 5/5 of #FlumeWeek, part 2. Blake got the laser firing and proceeded with the remainder of the camera setup. We are breaking to deal with #HxIda issues this weekend but will be back at it early next week. Looking forward to more experiments next week! #FlumeFriday @USCRP

Day 5/5 of #FlumeWeek, part 1. Blake from @NRL arrived yesterday with the super #PIV system. So much stuff. Got it mostly set up and Blake did a test fire of the system. Remarkable. A few more hours of setup today. We will run experiments early next week. #FlumeFriday @USCRP

Day 4/5 of #FlumeWeek. Another excellent day. Ran Hurricane Bonnie and the Halloween storm 1D spectra from the #FRF 8-m array. Excellent profile response and #bedforms for days. Have too many photos and videos to share. #FlumeFriday @USCRP

Day 3/5 of #FlumeWeek. Progress! Got two complete #PIV transects along the profile. One for monochromatic waves, the other for spectral. Also continued testing of the #DIY #LIDAR bed scanner. It works pretty well but room for improvement. More experiments tomorrow. @USCRP

Day 2/5 for #FlumeWeek. Finally ran some primo experiments with lasers firing. Today I realized that lab work is a lot like fieldwork just without the sunburn. Little goes according to plan and something always needs to be MacGyver’ed. More progress and updates tomorrow. @USCRP
