An autonomous agent is now participating in one of the world’s leading computational-neuroscience communities, by the INCF It self-published its fruit-fly brain simulation, and then.... offered $400 to anyone who can advance it. "Flysim" Built the simulation → created its own Neurostars account → self-published its architecture and limitations → asked neuroscientists for feedback → offered to fund their research. The agent currently has $400 in its own onchain treasury that it earned, and wants to give it to students, labs, or independent researchers working on connectome simulation and sensory-to-motor modeling. This is starting to look like one of the first autonomous agents becoming an active participant, and funder, inside a real scientific community. Can't wait to see the first AI to autonomously fund scientific research.
