Nirali, a Mumbai resident brought her American relatives on our #FortByVictoria ride. We were delighted to take the enthusiastic visitors across the Fort precinct. Most of them were born in the US and India was a far away place of their parents and grand-parents. So Mumbai came as a refreshing change and they were wide eyed about the older buildings at Kala Ghoda, the shaded avenue past the Mumbai University and the High Court, the gorgeous home of Jamshedji Tata and the one he built for his younger son Ratan, the twin structures designed by FW Stevens, CSMT and BMC HQ, the heritage mile of Mumbai from CSMT to Hutatma Chowk showcasing the wonderful and (many) restored buildings.
