If you’re not from Toronto, you would never understand what this moment means to our city. It’s nearly impossible to get Toronto together for one cause. For our city to put differences aside and participate in one project is monumental. While this video doesn’t solve the issues in Toronto, I’m very honored and grateful to be the cause we came together for. Giving back to my city means more to me now than ever. Contrast: In 2011, during the Arab uprisings, I rigorously questioning a top Saudi official at the Club. I was suspended for two weeks. The Washington Post and other outlets covered it. Then, the Club’s ethics committee overturned the suspension. Another contrast: The Saudi official would take questions. Schumer wouldn’t at the Public Citizen sponsored event. (I have done interviews on the suspension with a few good podcasters, who are probably suppressed, which will be out soon.)
