This week's Friday pub is Cafe Cini at 81 Renfield St. A trendy haunt throughout the 90s, it was owned by footballer Charlie Nicholas. It only became a pub in 1962, then called the Picador. Before that it had been a branch of the Canadian Fur Co.

This week's Friday pub is the Cockatoo at 220 Pollokshaws Rd, near the Plaza Ballroom. There had been a pub on this site since 1872, and was previously known as the Glen. It was demolished in the late 90s and the space is now occupied by flats.

This week's Friday pub, courtesy of Ross Gillan, is The Drover at 447 Gallowgate. There's been a bar on this spot since at least 1845. Prominent east end publican John Ramsay, proprietor of Ramsay's on Duke St, took it over in the mid-1870s.

This week's Friday pub is the Clelland Bar at 42 Hospital St in the Gorbals. It was opened by James Clelland in 1919, and served the people of the area for over 50 years before the redevelopment of the Gorbals led to its demolition.

Named after the Glasgow Ship Bank which was the city's first bank, founded in 1749 by a group of tobacco merchants. It was officially known as Dunlop, Houston & Co, after its principal partners.

This week's Friday pub is the Auld Hoose at 429 Gallowgate, photographed in 1991. There's been a bar here since the 1850s when it was known as Mac's. When the original Auld Hoose was demolished on the Gallowgate, it was renamed The Auld Hoose.
