One thing I’m leaning about #FunctionalNeurologicalDisorders 2.5 years after being diagnosed is the influence environmental changes has on symptoms. Barometric pressure changes spike mine. So does bad air quality.
Living in Pittsburgh doesn’t make this easy.
It’s easy to say an illness doesn’t define you. But it does shape you.
You get to decide HOW.

The worst part of #FunctionalNeurologicalDisorders isn’t the stutter, shaking, or sensory issues. Nor is it not being able to take ADHD stimulants.
It’s not being able to go places or read books or watch tv because … don’t even know why. Just that I can’t anymore.
Sucks.
Don’t care about your politics.
As someone who developed a speech issue because of #FunctionalNeurologicalDisorders this type of support is heartening. Hope more public figures show kindness to those who are stigmatized.

A small uptick in #migraine lately — probably in part due to air conditions. With those, one #FunctionalNeurologicalDisorders symptoms (stuttering) has re-emerged, then increased.
Knew it could happen.
