🇧🇯 Un véhicule transportant des chevaux et plusieurs cavaliers a été victime d’un accident à l’entrée Nord de Boko, dans la commune de N’Dali, alors qu’il regagnait son point de départ après les festivités de la #Gaani.

Un accident a fait un mort et plusieurs blessés jeudi 27 août 2026 à Boko, dans l’arrondissement de Sirarou, commune de N’Dali. Le véhicule accidenté transportait des cavaliers, des chevaux et d’autres passagers qui revenaient de la Gaani célébrée à Nikki. Selon les informations rapportées par Madame Actu et les précisions données à Fraternité FM par le chef de l’arrondissement de Sirarou, Alidou Tamou Orou Yorou, le camion a terminé sa course dans un ravin. Le bilan provisoire fait état d’un décès et de plusieurs blessés. Neuf personnes ont été conduites à l’hôpital de Boko pour recevoir des soins. Les victimes dont l’état nécessitait une prise en charge plus spécialisée ont ensuite été évacuées vers le Centre hospitalier universitaire départemental du Borgou, à Parakou.

🕯️ Commemoration of Col. Abdillahi Haji Saed —
Forty‑four years ago today — January 27, 1982 — the commander of the 26th Sector of the Somali National Army SNA, General Mohamed Hashi #Gaani, ordered the cold‑blooded execution of Col. Mujahid Abdillahi Haji Saed (AHN) at #Dharkayn_Geeye in Togdheer, Somaliland.
His killing is remembered as the first martyrdom associated with the Somali National Movement (#SNM) and a defining early act of resistance against the genocidal military regime.
The Incident:
On January 27, 1982, Col. Abdillahi Haji Saed was executed at #Dharkayn_Geeye (also spelled Dharkayn‑geeyo / Dharkayn‑Geenyo).
Before his arrest and killing, he had been among the frontline commanders defending against Ethiopian military incursions around Galdogob, Mudug region a contested border town during the 1982 Ethiopian–Somalian clashes.
His transfer to #Dharkayn_Geeye — deep inside what is today the Republic of Somaliland — placed him under the authority of the 26th Sector command.
Who ordered the Execution:
The execution was ordered by General Mohamed Hashi Gaani, cousin of dictator Siad Barre and then commander of the 26th Sector — the most powerful and heavily militarized sector of the Somali National Army, responsible for the entire northern region. Gaani was widely known for his uncompromising repression of dissent in the north, part of a broader pattern of political purges and clan‑targeted persecution that intensified after 1978.
Independent historical accounts confirm that by the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Barre regime had escalated sectarian, clan‑based repression, especially targeting Isack officers, intellectuals, and community leaders.
Col. Saed’s execution is remembered as one of the clearest early examples of this campaign.
Historical Context:
The killing occurred during a period of deepening political paranoia within the Siad Barre Darod dominated regime.
After the failed 1978 coup attempt and the regime’s defeat in the Ogaden War, Barre increasingly relied on:
Internal purges executed by #Darod special units within the military and targeted senior military officers, educators, senior civil servants of #Isach_clan, the summary excution as a collective punishment of whole Isack clan labeled as Somali National Movement (SNM) supporters has intensified after 1980. During that time, the government initiated clan‑based favoritism and repression, and harsh crackdowns on perceived as dissidents, particularly targeting Isack clan members.
These dynamics directly contributed to the rise of the Somali National Movement (SNM), founded by Isack diaspora intellectuals, and activists who were responding to escalating state violence.
Within this context, the execution of a respected Isack senior officer by a close relative of the dictator symbolized the regime’s willingness to eliminate even its own decorated commanders if they were perceived as disloyal.
Legacy:
Col. Mujahid Abdillahi Haji Saed is honored as:
- The first SNM martyr, whose death foreshadowed the broader liberation struggle that would follow.
- A symbol of principled resistance against dictatorship, clan persecution, and military tyranny.
- A reminder of the sacrifices that paved the way for Somaliland’s eventual reassertion of sovereignty in May 18, 1991. His execution remains a solemn chapter in Somaliland’s modern history — a moment that crystallized the brutality of the regime and strengthened the resolve of those who would later dismantle it.
