After going through my classmate's lesson on Native American's I learned that most Native American's reside in the west coast. #GCCEDUC
After watching my classmate's lesson on teaching Arab students I learned that the Greater and Middle East have four distinct culture areas. They are Arab, Turkish, Iranian and Israeli. #GCCEDUC
From watching my fellow classmate's lesson on Homelessness in Education I learned that out of the 550,000 young homeless people, 380,00 of them are under the age of 18. #GCCEDUC
After watching my fellow classmate's lesson on Latino students, I learned that Latino children going into Kindergarten who did not attend pre-school are two and a half times are likely in the lowest quartile of performance. #GCCEDUC
I learned that in Japanese schools there is a different grading scale than in American schools, during a presentation in class. This is important to keep in mind when teaching Asian ELLs. I also learned that Chinese is a monosyllabic language. #gcceduc

After Watching my classmates lesson on Asian Students I learned that the grading scale in China is different than in America. In China an A is 85-100%! Where in America an A- is 90%, A is 94-97% and an A is 98-100%. #GCCEDUC

As a future educator this would affect me because this might effect my students lives. They could be fighting to live in the united states as a family. It is hard to learn if they are worried about every seeing a parent or family member again. #GCCEDUC

Today I learned the five pillars of Muslim practice. Tawhid, Sallah, Zakah, Sawm, and Hajj. The two primary pillars are Shi’ite and Sunni. #gcceduc
I did my presentation on African Americans. I learned that their major religion is Protestant and it is divided into three distinct traditions. Evangelical, mainline, and historically black Protestant churches. #gcceduc
Today I watched @GiannaMamoneedu presentation on Asian Indians. I learned that they immigrated from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Also 82 percent are Hindus and 12 percent are Muslims. #gcceduc
After reading @chrisemdin book, I was able to see a new way of teaching. One where every student, regardless of race or ethnicity, is taught and met exactly where they are. My question then is how do you continue to keep reality pedagogy at the forefront of your class? #GCCEDUC
After watching @chrisemdin video Reality Pedagogy, it made me realize the importance of equity in the classroom. It is hearing someone’s voice on what they need by providing them with their needs. We need to create the opportunity for the young and share what they need. #gcceduc
