Ch 6: It was good to see that bold schools don’t throw out direct instruction because I fully believe it has its place in the classroom, specifically with teaching a new concept. However there are ways to make it better and to gauge understanding throughout. #GEVSDSummerBookStudy
Ch 5: VOCABULARY!!! This is such an important piece of comprehension. I have struggled with the Frayer model because students struggled with finding an image to use. I now have a plan for implementing with technology, google slides, and google image search. #GEVSDSummerBookStudy
Ch 4: Socratic Seminars are something I have not used, as I thought integration into my math classroom was a stretch. However the steps laid out in Bold schools gives good insight into how scripted and leveled DOK questions can push that thinking. #GEVSDSummerBookStudy
