Notes on @Oraichain_Hub #GPUStaking 🥩 Did you notice that the APY just went from <2% to almost 14%? 📈 ❓ What happened? 🗒️ I'm going to explain this from the perspective of a casual observer and what I think you could reasonably be expected to think by looking at the data and UI available in the hub at https://t.co/o4zOfugzy8 👀 The initial delegations of $scORAI skyrocketed 🚀 at launch to over 80k $scORAI per the UI. The system appears to be a revenue sharing mechanism where payouts are a function of the amount of usage of the GPU-related @oraichain offerings and the total amount of staked $scORAI. The APY initially dropped below 2%. I suspect people over-aped 🐵 into the new system. The APY went back up to ~14% today when the amount of staked $scORAI suddenly dropped to 10k 📉 One thing to note #NFA is that I would classify @oraichain as AI infrastructure. Infrastructure cycles tend to lag behind specific applications in any product narrative. This is because the applications that are solving specific problems in the space first need to gain traction before they need additional scale. Once these applications start scaling the infrastructure components that have the potential to span many problems/application have even higher growth potential. The net-net of that is that it's earlier in the $ORAI cycle than it is in the #AI narrative. All things considered, 80k $scORAI is a very small number of $ORAI to be staked and the drop to <2% APY tracks with an early stage of adoption by third party apps in the $ORAI cycle. This means more risk, earlier stage, and higher potential.
