AUSTIN MAN charged with murdering a man over a diamond watch just walked out of jail after a judge cut his bond. The victim posted photos of cash and a diamond Cartier watch online. Police say six people spent two weeks planning to take them. In Nov 2024, they blasted into his apartment, assaulted a woman, pointed a gun at a child, and shot the victim dead. Judaren Forbes, 22, is indicted for murder. He posted bond last week. Another judge then set bond at $1 on his open gun cases. When the victim was killed, Forbes was already out on bond in four cases. Highlights: 2022: Arrested carrying a gun. January 2023: Video shows him running into the street at a house party and firing an AR at a passing car. Prosecutors knocked the felony down to a misdemeanor. 60 days in jail. Police say Rodney Rawlings supplied the drugs. Prosecutors had plenty of chances to stop him. In 2022, Rawlings rammed a man's truck, swung a metal rod at his face, sliced his palm open, and told him "I'm gonna kill you." Two years later, prosecutors knocked it down from aggravated assault to a misdemeanor and gave him probation. 16 days after that, witnesses found him passed out behind the wheel of a car rolling down the street. Fentanyl, meth, and a 9mm in the car. The gun charge was dismissed. In May 2025, he was arrested in a car that wasn't his with a gun and more than 4 grams of hard drugs. He bonded out. Three weeks later, Rocha was dead. DA Jose Garza's office declined to file the drug charge. Then Rawlings skipped court. When he was caught, a judge let him back out on a personal bond. He skipped court again. Earlier this month, he was arrested with drugs and a gun again. 18 cases since 2020. Zero jury trials. One man dead.
