URGENT CALL: GEN. MUSA MUST RESIGN AS MINISTER OF DEFENCE
Mandate Failed.
Blood is Flowing.
Focus is Lost.
CONTEXT: Earlier today,
I made a post on what is expected of a Defence Minister in Nigeria and anywhere in the world. Strategy.
Troop welfare.
Civilian safety. Accountability.
Total focus.
We set the standard.
Now let’s measure performance against it.
Nigeria is bleeding.
In times like this, the Office of Minister of Defence
has only one duty:
DELIVER SECURITY.
After 12+ months in office, the results do not match the mandate.
Therefore, I make an URGENT CALL:
Gen. Musa Christopher MUST RESIGN as Minister of Defence.
1. THE STANDARD - FROM EARLIER TODAY
A Defence Minister anywhere in the world
is measured by:
1. STRATEGY & PREVENTION: Clear doctrine. Stop reacting.
2. TROOP WELFARE: Equipment,
intelligence, pay, morale.
3. CIVILIAN PROTECTION: Measurable safety for people and roads.
4. ACCOUNTABILITY: Own failures.
Give timelines.
5. TOTAL FOCUS:
During crisis, no distractions. No politics.
2. THE EVIDENCE - SPECIFIC FAILURES [2025 - PRESENT]
ON STRATEGY:
From "We have
degraded them"
to "It's complicated".
No new doctrine.
Attacks keep following the same pattern.
ON TROOPS - WELFARE & LIVES LOST:
Soldiers killed in ambushes with complaints of poor equipment and intel still surfacing. Morale is down. The same welfare issues persist.
ON CIVILIANS - BLOOD ON OUR ROADS & FARMS:
1. OYO: Kidnapping cases in the Orire School [A NATIONAL NIGHTMARE FOR NEARLY 60 DAYS],
on highways continue. Citizens abducted, families paying ransom.
2. BENUE: Farming communities attacked. Civilians killed. Displacement continues.
3. JOS/PLATEAU: Repeated attacks on villages. Lives lost. Communities buried.
4. KWARA: Insecurity spreading. Kidnapping and armed attacks reported.
5. NATIONWIDE: Abuja-Kaduna, Lokoja-Abuja, Benin-Ore, East-West roads are not safe.
The safety metrics have not improved.
If anything,
they have worsened.
ON ACCOUNTABILITY:
More press tours and explanations. Fewer verifiable arrests, rescued victims, or secured LGAs. No public performance dashboard.
ON FOCUS:
"GMC" branded merchandise, personal stories, and 2027 talk during a national crisis where Nigerians are being buried weekly.
3. THE CONTRAST - SAME MAN,
TWO OFFICES
AS CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF [2023-2025]:
People-centric.
Barracks visits.
Built trust.
AS MINISTER
OF DEFENCE [2025-PRESENT]:
Complexity narratives. Branding. Outcome gap.
The higher the office, the higher the responsibility.
