So, I've been hearing all this time that #Genocyber had a reputation for being needlessly ultra violent, mean spirited, nihilistic, more of a story by a 13-year-old goth fresh from Hot Topic that waxes and wanes on the human condition and after seeing it, I can say...
...Central Park Media.
90's Central Park Media.
Folks, we got an off the rails anime in the hands of a company who's era gave, for a long time, New York City the rep of "Oh dear God" with dubbers. #Genocyber
...but then you throw in the other shoe, namely by the time part 3 came out, Manga UK either realized what they had on their hands or the people did. Either way, Manga UK didn't want anything to do with it and handed the job of dubbing to the middle man directly... #Genocyber
Okay...according the cray cray doc this is just like NGE's Human Instrumentality Project only with more "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" horror and less people turning into Tang.

Hm. So the dead kids led to a Ghost in the Shell moment.

Seeing the kids killed in front of her causes Elaine to turn into Genocyber and wipeout the helicopters. If I sound like I'm going "Blah" during this it's...well..when it's exploitive ultraviolence with no substance, it's hard to be invested beyond sick for watching. #Genocyber
(Sees a kid's head graphically blown off within a minute of the opening credits)
Okay...glad I'm drinking tonight.

Tomorrow, we start the first two parter! It's the aftermath of Hong Kong's destruction and the world's at war, so what happens when one waring country encounters Elane? "Vajranoid Attack!" #Genocyber
WARNING: Tomorrow's anime contains violence against children, extreme violence, sexual assault, sexual assault of a minor, and extreme violence, viewer discretion is advised. #Genocyber

Elane teleports to a subway station with her friend and he's guarding her as they travel somewhere. Some bounty hunters hear this and...
*SMASH*
...well, if you kill everybody around them, that is being discrete as nobody'll tell... #Genocyber
...yeah...we're to one of the first of many infamous moments of this show...and it's as horrid as you heard. If you thought stock Stephen King bullies written to get their come uppens were bad, they had at least SOMETHING and weren't THIS awful. #Genocyber
THE #GENOCYBER!
A nightmarish combination of cybernetics and psychic potential!
It's a 90s anime OVA which tended to be something pop culture inspiring or animation nightmare fuel! The is pretty much the latter!

Reminder: TOMORROW we are starting our look at #Genocyber, quite possibly the most violent and reprehensible OVA @Ochan30 and I have ever reviewed, and I'm counting Angel Cop when I say this. It has it's reputation...and fans...for a reason. Time to find out why tomorrow.
Should ANY of this, for obvious reasons, make you understandably uncomfortable, it is STRONGLY ADVISED for the next few weeks for you to mute #Genycyber as that's what we're starting tomorrow. As for how many eps a week, it depends on how we do as we might need breathers.
WARNING: Next week, the anime we'll be reviewing contains scenes of child murder, child touching, vivisection, decapitation, sexual assault, extreme violence, and stronger adult content than anything that's been reviewed before. Should this make you uncomfortable mute #Genocyber
Ok, so...originally, plans were to do #LilyCAT next week as a bridge between #BattleAthletesVictory and what we ARE gonna show next week as it was still in space, but ultra violent, as a way to ease in to it...but I wanted to do it on Halloween, so...ramming speed.
Day 22 or (day 4 for me)
Here's my first #anime character drawing, and it's the #genocyber

Genocyber.... I wish I knew how to quit you.
I'm about to watch this gorefest again. It popped into my head this morning, and now it's all I'm thinking about.
