The reality is usually: User ↓ Wallet ↓ Website ↓ API ↓ Database ↓ Indexer ↓ Cache ↓ Marketplace Logic ↓ Bridge Logic ↓ Validation Logic ↓ Blockchain ↓ Everything Happens Again In Reverse ↓ User Every layer makes decisions. Every layer makes assumptions. Every layer can fail. The blockchain only records the final result. It doesn't tell you: ❌ What the application believed ❌ What the database stored ❌ What the indexer interpreted ❌ What the bridge validated ❌ What logic classified the asset ❌ What assumption caused the failure When exploits happen, people immediately ask: "Which contract was hacked?" Sometimes that's the wrong question. The better question is: "Which assumption was wrong?" Because a blockchain can be functioning perfectly while the systems around it are making terrible decisions. A token account gets identified as a contract. A bridge trusts a message it shouldn't. A marketplace trusts stale ownership. An API returns bad intelligence. A database stores bad assumptions.
