I slightly lost faith with the worthwhile campaign #getpetsreading when I discovered that levels of pet illiteracy had not changed at all during my tenure as #readingpetlaureate, so it's great to be reminded that we can and should make a difference.

#GetPetsReading Give a hamster a toy and you'll keep him amused for hours. Give him a book about escaping and he'll be on a train to the Swiss border with forged paper and civilian clothes, made from dyed fur, before you can raise the alarm.
