“You only post the good about [your] marriage and that’s not realistic” “I know y’all don’t get along like this all the time in real life.” “Talk about his flaws, there’s no way he’s that perfect” These are just a few of the things I’ve had said to me regarding my “happy marriage”. Here’s the deal: Yes, my husband and I disagree here and there. Yes, we have gotten upset with eachother. And yes, correct he is not perfect(neither am I) But… No, there will never be record of it on the internet anywhere 🙃 Why? Because I’m of the personal conviction that conflict is best resolved without cameras. If it’s being resolved it doesn’t need to be recorded. My Bible says love keeps no record of wrong. And if I’m recording it for social media… that’s a record—a public record of wrong. Womp, womp, wooooommmmpppp! Additionally, if you apply the Ephesians 4:29 method which says “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” then talking about whatever negative parts of my marriage may be does not pass the vibe check. It’s not necessary to say , edifying to read or hear, or giving grace to my husband. Looks like that’s out then. In marriage you’re supposed to be unified on all fronts—always. And just because we don’t “agree” doesn’t mean we stop being unified. Here’s three things that we don’t do: - post subliminals - post when upset -post each others shortcomings 2024 makes year 8 together (year 7 married) and this is something we stand by. Remain unified. Protect eachother on all fronts. Social media is no different. Robe and turban by “velvetzephyr” on Etsy use my code MRSADARA for $ off
