6. Perverted By Language
Another solid album, although at this point I’m starting to wish they’d vary their sound more. Brix Smith’s lead vocals on Hotel Blöedel is one of the album highlights.

5. Room To Live
After ’Hex’ this one feels a bit like The Fall on autopilot, but of course that’s decent enough too. The only outlier ’Papal Visit’ is modestly successful. Occasional Lou Reed vibes.

4. Hex Enducation Hour
Compared to previous albums the sound somehow seems richer, more full-flavoured, and it suits the band well. Varied yet coherent and an overall great listening experience🎶

3. Grotesque
First few tracks are superb with playful instrumentation and imaginative hooks, but then descends into more traditional post-punk territory. As before, MES’s eloquent shrieks is a great asset.

2. Dragnet
A much more varied and eclectic album than the debut, but equally good. Obvious Tom Verlaine influences, but also hints at goth and - more surprisingly - americana at times.

1. Live At The Witch Trials
A really solid debut. Band seems fully formed and the sound confident. A few more deviations from the punk template wouldn't hurt. Plus for eager and intense vocals.
