#GiftedFinds today was donated to @MaidstoneMuseum. This fantastic #Roman pin is often suggested to be votive in nature although there is still some debate on this. Interestingly such pins are quite lates, c.4th century in date.

the last #GiftedFInds matrix and its' story is rather special. A #responsible member of the public recognised its' importance after it was illegally recovered on @ForestryComm land. @ForestryComm donated it @britishmuseum. We present the seal of Bishop Tomas Bek of Lincoln. 5/5
Our third #giftedFinds #Medieval seal matrix is on its way to its new home at @BucksMuseum. It names William De(of) Marlave, the placename is attested, in Domesday as Great Marlowe in Buckinghamshire. 4/5

A second #giftedfinds #matrix is probably cinque port connected, found near Sandwich and naming Nicholis of Winchelsea. His connection to sea trade shown via a ship motif. This matrix is now in #Winchelsea museum. 3/5

The first matrix in #giftedfinds, was the first object the #FLO was able to link to an individual we could trace in history. Ralph of #Sandwich, a former Lord Mayor of London. The matrix is now in #Sandwich museum. 2/5

The axehead has attractive banding shown off in the photo from the record below. This was likely the reason the flint was chosen, being as it is a fault and weak spot in the #flint. 2/2
