ETHAN'S 1ST BARK! Ethan let out his 1st bark on camera today while supervising Jeff's home construction project. He had been trying to get the attention of the other dogs in the yard & let out this joyful bark! Jeff was one proud foster daddy & immediately shared it w/ us! :)
...Ethan is doing very well, responding great to antibiotics & is now 76lbs! This is double his initial weight of 38lbs on 1/29. He will be staying at Jeff's house today to get some extra rest. He is taking his meds like a champ & we will run bloodwork again on Monday. Thank you!

Ethan decided he was ready to break out of his nursery & stood up on his hind legs by himself! He is slowly getting his strength back & is in a very playful mood. We are seeing more of his personality everyday! He picked up his 1st toy this morning and is having a ball!๐

OUR BABY HAS TAKEN HIS FIRST STEPS! While he is wobbly & learning to use his legs again, this is huge progress! Less than a week ago, he was on death's door, & now he is finally able to walk a little again. Thank you so much to everyone supporting Ethan and his recovery!

Ethan was stable enough to come home from the hospital today. While he is still unable to walk on his own & will need round-the-clock care from our vet team, we feel he is out of the woods when it comes to refeeding syndrome & our staff can take care of him from this point on.

Update on starved dog: Ethan has no muscles to speak of after severe starvation. The hospital staff are encouraging him to stand and move his legs so he can start to use his limbs again. We are grateful to everyone who is following Ethan's progress and are rooting for him!
