Hang out and talk to people, whether it be in a chill out room, a hallway, at a bar, or anywhere in between; there are thousands of like minded people in one place that weekend, make it count. #gooddefconadvice
#GoodDefConAdvice : (for males) Pack at least a pair jeans if not slacks, and/or check out the party venues ahead of time. Personal experience, some places will turn you away for wearing shorts and flip flops (*cough foundation room) buying a 70$ pair of pants sucks

Bring a couple more shirts than you normally would. It's got there, and you're going to sweat more than you think. It's nice to have a fresh shirt for evening activities sometimes
Scratch “AirBnB” add “hotel conference and hotel network” for the lulz and see how quickly you get a knock on the door from the manager. Also, #BadDefconAdvice or #GoodDefconAdvice ?
Running nmap on your @Airbnb network is a great way to find hidden cameras and remind yourself you need to improve your posture.🤦♂️
#GoodDefconAdvice Treat defcon as 4 back-to-back day hikes in 90-100 degree heat. You'll walk more than you realize, so anything you'd do to prep for a day hike, prep for defcon. Water, snacks, chafing, etc.

Which brings me to #GoodDefconAdvice. Never assume what languages people speak when you want to be snarky. That said responding with すみません、英語はなしてください made me a lot of new friends at a company 😂😉🤣

If security comes into your room at DEFCON, just loudly ask "AM I BEING DETAINED?" Security guards are legally obligated to freeze in place until you say the magic phrase. #gooddefconadvice

Aside from hydrating, one thing I like to do is eat lemon wedges. While sour they’re great for the immune system and it gets the job done as a hand sanitizer. #DEFCON

For all the DefCon folks staying in Caesar's: the VIP override for the Honeywell thermostat in your room is:
- While holding down "display"
- Press "off"
- Press "Up" arrow
- Release "display" button
Disables room occupancy sensor and lowers min temp setting.
