Honestly I’ve hit my breaking point. On call this week and just crushed. It’s insanity to do a specialist consult on a complex patient in 20 minutes. If I take longer then urgent care is delayed and the pile gets bigger.
Now Sechelt hospital has no physician capacity and patients are being sent over to me in the night. For the first time in 22 years of medical practice I said no. It felt terrible because the patient gets caught in the middle.
It’s unsafe. It’s hurting me. It’s hurting my family. It’s hurting patients. Leadership at the highest level in the VCH health authority need to lead. I have dedicated 22 years to Lions gate hospital. I’m seriously contemplating resigning.
Whoever forms the next government needs to make people in highly paid positions in administration accountable. Done with mediocrity. Politicians can’t fix the system but they can demand accountability from those they hire in to these roles.
I'm guessing all of our #GoodDoctors will have plenty of #Ivermectin on hand to help with this "crisis"...
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was designed to provide critical support during disasters. Unfortunately, its track record is marred by inefficiency, bureaucracy, and neglect. The organization is now disrupting the process of clean-up and preventing people to drop off storm debris. This is a perfect example of how we can not rely on our Government agencies to save us.
It's absolutely criminal to withhold a cure. 🤬

On Q2, no 'terminal disease' found yet.
I have #ITP diagnosed 1997.
Now a flare'up & a v low #plateletcount which cud 'potentially be fatal' says Doc.
